Well my guests have just left after the Twitter Taste Live event organised by Bibendum wines, aptly entitled Blend your Rhone. Five of us in Oxted tasted the following wines:
Alain Jaume Cotes Du Rhone Blanc Haut de Brun 2007
Louis Bernard Cotes du Rhone Rouge Cuvee des Prelats 2007
Ventoux Rouge Les Sablons Cave Terraventoux 2007
Gigondas Tradition Domaine Font-Sane 2006
Domaine Paul Autard Chateauneuf de Pape 2006
and had a good laugh and discussion both physically and on-line with other groups in the UK. The action continues now in the USA as I post this.
My vote (although there seems to have been a low turnout) went to the Gigondas. Thanks to 62845 (a team effort), ZebraSun and Zetsubou_sensei for being here, and bibendumwine for organising the event (and my wine delivery!).

Looking down from Crockham Hill. I’m standing just inside Surrey, and the photograph shows parts of Kent and East Sussex. This is where three counties meet.
It’s a bit breezy today and the ride from Oxted via Godstone, Woldingham and Westerham has been stiff in places. I’m at my last (and shortest) climb of the day as I head back to Oxted.

For the past three or four years this bush has lost its flowers before they reached this stage, so I’m quite chuffed. Happy Easter everyone.

Bluemeanie came home for Easter and she brought an ukelele with her that she bought last week.

I’ve been busy this past fortnight with a client “go-live”. Hence the reduced output here during the last week. Despite this I’ve had a lot to comment on (which has gone unsaid): things like lost luggage and the (lack of) airline customer service. I might come to write about these in the near future.
Meanwhile I took this photograph last week on the Berlin underground. The monitor screen is presumably for the benefit of train drivers rather than commuters.

I spent five hours this afternoon pounding the pavements doing a “knock and drop” with a local election candidate. The local (and European) elections are in May this year. Some of the little notices (see photo) that people put up next to their doorbells are quite amusing.
Understandably some people don’t like being disturbed on a Sunday afternoon (although our reception was overwhelmingly friendly).

The waves are small and these surfers must be dedicated to be out after 7pm on a late March evening. About every 10th wave was “catchable”, according to my count.
