Another shot of Paris from below the ground. Past images here and here.

Today I did it, it was very powerful, and I’m still thinking of it

Back in March this year there was a little “buzz” in the metro about these posters.  It was written about here at a time when there was still no explanation for what the posters were advertising. There is even a French word to describe this: “teasing”. I still have no idea what product/concept/brand the posters were promoting, but I suspect it was for something really boring like insurance or a bank.

Paris - up and down the avenue

image

image

I have a distinct feeling of déja fait, but anyway here are two photographs taken looking up and down the Champs Elyssée, in Paris.

Paris underground

image

Another photograph that I took back in March this year, in a tunnel under Place de l’Etoile, near the photograph I posted yesterday.

Paris overground

image

Another photo of a vélib station, near Place de l’Etoile in Paris, taken in March this year. The sticker on the pillar in the foreground states that “this is Paris, not Algeria”, and is provided by Project Apache.

New Intense Energy

image

It is with delight that I post a guest photograph, taken in London a few weeks ago, and entitled New Intense Energy.

Season passing

image

Spring is passing, the flowers fade away and rough winds have shook the darling buds of May from my cherry tree and scattered them on the driveway.

More Llama photos

image

It seems that llamas lie on the ground, like cows, with their legs tucked under them when it rains in order to keep their hooves dry. I noticed that, unlike cows, they have a special patch of field where they go to the toilet. It’s as if there’s an invisible sign saying “toilet here” that only llamas can see.  And we watched the llamas queuing up for turns at the imaginary/llama toilet.

I’m beginning to have doubts that the okapi in the photograph is an okapi. An okapi is:

the closest living relative of the giraffe. Native to the rain forests around the Congo River in the north east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, it was known only to the local people until 1901; this obscurity led the Society for Cryptozoology to adopt it as an emblem. Okapis have dark bodies, with striking horizontal white stripes on the back legs. The body shape is similar to that of the giraffe, except that okapis have much shorter necks. Both species have long, flexible, blue tongues that they use to strip leaves and buds from trees.

I suspect that the “okapi” in my photo is actually a Llama with different markings/fur.
