Spring Lambs

I wonder if these sheep are truly social animals? Wikipedia states that:

All mammals (and birds) are social to the extent that mothers and offspring bond. The term “social animal” is usually only applied when there is a level of social organization that goes beyond this, with permanent groups of adults living together, and relationships between individuals that endure from one encounter to another.

The farmer is responsible for organising these animals, ensuring they are impregnated, putting a single female in charge of two or more babies (not all their own).... and where are the males of this group?

I’m following this man over the ropes. If you don’t hear from me again you’ll know what happened.

Happy Easter

image

It was a shock to get back to the hotel last night and find this woman lurking behind the door. When I say “last night” I mean this morning: the clock in the photo tells me it was 2:40 am. Oh dear, now I’m starting to remember that I was dancing to a lot of cheesy music until 2:00 am… how does one’s selective memory fail to block out things like that. I thought it was there to protect you?

I would go out tonight

image

Today it’s been all over the New Morrissey Express and Guardian and BBC Front Row: Morrissey has announced that his autobiography is finished. By “finished” it seems he means that he has written 660 pages that cover his life. Whether a book of that length comes out is another thing.

I was also interested to spot that Urban Outfitters are selling a This Charming Man t-shirt for women (photograph above). A bit of further digging and I have found that they sell two Smith’s LPs on vinyl: The Smiths and Meat is Murder.  And rather more amusingly, a Last night I dreamt bed sheet.

I would go out tonight, but I’m leaving very early tomorrow morning for a long weekend away to celebrate a friend’s birthday.  One of those milestone birthdays…

Hymn in Old Oxted

image

I spotted this replica of Damien Hirst’s Hymn (2006) in a shop window (bottom right) in Old Oxted recently. Actually it might be the original.

Damien’s version here.

Oxted Food Club

image

I thought I would post a quick photograph of the Oxted Food Club, at The Crown taken earlier this evening. And here’s a link to the recipes that I tried out for the first time, to mark the occassion:

Next time I might stick to something tried and tested.
