Heat efficiency

Mmm, one of these houses is letting off more heat than the other, thereby melting the frost on the roof. Is the other house better insulated and heat efficient? Or is the other house simply letting off less heat because the occupants haven’t turned their heating on, or as high?

there appears to be no downstairs curtains and the wheelie bin is still near the house instead of at the roadside so I’m guessing the house is unoccupied?

no - silly me - it should be the other way around!

I think Sherlock Dave grin could be on to something.

If collection day was on Tuesday, the people on the right have been away since then, and nobody brought their wheelie bin in. They left their heating off.

The left hand side has no cars, the right has the cars. Dave is right, the heating is just opposite of what one would expect.

Think I have it.  The house on the right appears to have the downstairs curtains closed but the upstairs open possibly to stop people looking in to see if it is occupied.

Janet is probably correct in saying the wheelie bin has been left out and not returned by the owners.

Both cars are present which means either both owners are in (with curtains closed during the day) or are away.

I’m guessing they are abroad having gone to the airport by taxi/friends dropping them off etc?

Or one has ceiling insulation?
