On Tupwood Scrubbs Road, Caterham. A year ago police, firefighters, two ambulances and a helicopter attended the scene of an accident nearby when a woman fell from a viewing platform into a ravine. There was no suggestion of foul play.

Two years ago police were reported to have uncovered a “cannabis factory” in this secluded road. One presumes that cannabis is cultivated and that this was what most people would refer to as a farm. Some reports, such as this one quote a police spokesperson as saying

This raid proves Tandridge is successfully disrupting the illegal supply of drugs.

which is simply an illogical statement: the police may very well be disrupting the illegal supply of drugs, but this raid proves nothing of the sort. I could think of several other things that could prove it…. for example if people were falling off platforms while high on drugs, and this stopped for a while after the raid because people were unable to get drugs and were consequently sober….

There is a nearby helipad at The Chalet, a property on Tupwood Lane owned by the Chairman of West Ham Football Club, David Gold. See here. I suspect the police helicopter would have had to use Mr Gold’s helipad to land.
