Easter themed?

I found this sculpture looking out across the Halle des Grandes Lignes at Gare du Nord in Paris. I can find no information about the statue but for me it evokes an Easter theme, oozing pure feminine energy and fertility.

Of course the shops in and around the station are currently full of chocolate eggs and other Faster fare.

“pure feminine energy” and “fertility” right next to each other… how male of you.

Mmm, it is Spring, but to be fair I have been known to see and comment on other forms of energy.

I have now established that this sculpture is Europa Operanda by the the ballerina and actress Ludmila Tcherina, who died in 2004.

The original bronze sculpture is at the Eurostar terminal in Calais. This is a resin replica.

This is how the artist described the sculpture:

Ce personnage de femme est une sorte de déesse-mère, souterraine et sous-marine. L’œuf fécondé de sa création capte les énergies sous une voûte en berceau. Pour le langage des formes, ma recherche a porté sur une adhésion au monde contemporain et à ses réalisations technologiques.

Something like:

This character of woman is a kind of goddess-mother, underground and underwater. The fertilized egg, her creation collects energies under a barrel vault. For the language of form, my research related to an adhesion in the contemporary world and its technological achievements.
