Fire, fire!

fire drill

Just after 5 this afternoon the fire alarm went off at work and we all filed out into the parking lot and formed clusters at our designated meeting points.  There was no smoke or evidence of fire, but it seemed an unlikely hour for a drill.  Five minutes later the fire engines arrived and the fire officers streamed into the building. After about half an hour they pronounced that we could get back to work. They told us that the source of the alarm was the kitchen, but when I left work about 20 minutes later they hadn’t narrowed it down any further.

Here we go again .... with Britain’s second hostage. As she is also an Iraqi citizen I wonder if she will get the same attention from the media circus as Ken Bigley did.

On a lighter note, as requested, here is UKIP (parental advisory).
