Housemartin nest

housemartin nest

Housemartins are a European swallow that migrate every winter to Southern Africa and return to Europe in summer in order to breed.  This nest is situated above my window, which is apparently not ideal from a parasite point of view.  I keep the window closed (besides for sticking my hand out to take this photograph).  There is a lot of information about housemartins at the RSPB website.
