Lack of fervour

There’s always an abundance of patriotic English flag displays during the football world cup, so the absence of this during the current rugby world cup is conspicuous. The rare example in the picture above is the single exception I have seen this month.

Is the difference in patriotic flag fervour between the fans a question of class difference or are the rugby fans more realistic (i.e. downbeat) about their prospects of winning the competition?
