Lincoln Cathedral

Lincoln Cathedral

This is a collage of the Cathedral in the city of Lincoln. This evening after work I picked up cousin Ruth in Loughborough and we drove through to the Lincoln Christmas Market. This market was formed in 1982, after a visit by the city council to Germany. It claims to be the biggest Christmas Market in Europe with over 300 stalls. The “it claims” is an obligatory part of that sentence.  We had a pleasant supper at a quaint restaurant then strolled around the market. Many shops in the (old) town seemed to be open, and they were doing a roaring trade on this opening night of the four-day market.

There is a BBC webcam for the Lincoln Market place here here

Ruth and I seemed to have lost our bearings a bit coming back, but I managed to drop her off in Belper OK. It is then an easy route back to Smisby for me, and took about 35 minutes.
