London Air


From a distance (such as above) we can see the dirty air that Londoners breath. Over 4000 Londoners die prematurely every year from air pollution. (See the report from the Institute of Occupational Medicine).  The Guardian recently reported that London will be hit with fines from Europe for failing to clean up its act, although presumably the government of the UK (and therefore all UK taxpayers) are the ones who will pay the penalty, and not London. And yet London Mayor, Boris Johnson, bears responsibility for this.  An interesting article I found on air pollution in UK cities, was by Gary Haq, Pollution, the silent killer.
