Mailbox graffiti

war graffiti

This is the Oxted mailbox with graffiti on it. It’s situated just outside Oxted School.  Graffiti is a growing problem. It is very expensive to clean up.  Some people who are continually hit by graffiti clean-ups take the join them approach.  Another approach is to accept it as a form of expression and to provide designated legal spaces for it.

The BBC recently took flak for a radio series which appeared to glamorise graffitos, although they denied this.  Their website does provide clear legal information on this activity. I liked some of the reader comments at the end.
