Sunset in Limpsfield

Limpsfield sunset

I took this picture on Sunday during the walk with Spenkers and her family, of the sun setting over some trees in Limpsfield.

This past weekend was Eid al-Fitr, the end of the month of Ramadan in the Islamic calendar. I forgot to mention during my previous post on Ramadan that I fasted during the daylight hours for this whole month. Strangely, this week I have been eating less, perhaps because I am drinking water during the day and not getting as hungry. I think that I ended up having an unnaturally large evening meal.  So I had to explain to the people at work that “no, I am not a Muslim, but I think it is a good idea to participate in Ramadan from time to time”.  Of course, as a non-Muslim, my participation was limited to fasting.

I have worked out that I have saved about 60 pounds in lunch-money, and will donate a bit more than this to a charity so that others can benefit by my actions.
