The Thames at Windsor

The Thames

Continuing the theme from yesterday, this is the Thames a bit upstream from the castle. These people were feeding the swans. Nearby others were swimming in the water.

Yesterday I linked to an IOL article concerning the the clean state of the Thames today. The problem with the IOL online is that the articles are very dreary as they lack the images of their print version. The BBC on the other hand makes an effort with their accompanying photos, even if they recycle the images (as I pointed out before).  Here was their recent take on the clean Thames.

The question is: are there any indigenous black swans in the UK?

Black swans are indigenous to Australia (no white swans) and I have a feeling that they were introduced and have interbred with the UK ones.
